Mission of the Research and Education Park
The mission of the park is to provide an environment that:
- Fosters economic development
- Stimulates the development of a knowledge based, research focused, advanced manufacturing cluster
- Provides a base from which The University of Texas-Pan American can expand its leadership role in the pioneering advances in rapid response manufacturing and product commercialization.
- Provides a base for collaboration, entrepreneurialism, and communication between the NAAMREI region’s universities, community and technical colleges, PK-12 educational systems, advanced manufacturing companies and communities; and
- Provides state of the art research facilities for development of breakthrough advanced manufacturing.
Strategic Objectives of the Research and Education Park
- Create public-private partnerships that provide joint research, technology transfer, student internships, faculty and graduate student consulting and job opportunities
- Enhance the growth opportunities of tenant companies through the creation of a research environment that will foster the creative talent and interaction of ideas to lead the world in next generation, rapid response advanced manufacturing and mass customization.
- Achieve world-class standards in all aspects of the development and operation of the Research and Education Park by establishing an efficient, management structure and operational platform.
